FAQs

Q. How often should I see the hygienist?

A. We recommend that you have your teeth cleaned once every six months.

Q. How often should I see the dentist?

A. We recommend that you have your teeth checked by a dentist once a year.

Q. What should I do if I break a tooth / loose a filling?

A. Phone the practice. If you are not having any pain make an appointment for as soon as we have one available. Try to chew on the opposite side when eating and ensure that food does not get trapped in the tooth. If you are having pain please let us know and we will try to see you as soon as possible.

Q. What should I do if my crown / bridge / veneer comes off?

A. Phone the practice, if you have the crown / bridge / veneer and it is still intact then it is a relatively straightforward procedure to replace it. We will endeavor to see you as soon as possible. If the crown / bridge / veneer is damaged you may need to have a new one made.

Q. Serious trauma to my front teeth?

A. Phone the practice even if there is no obvious damage to the teeth. There is a possibility that the roots of the teeth can be damaged and you will need to be assessed.

Q. What should I do if I have a swelling?

A. Phone the practice, it is possible that you may have an infection and may need a prescription.
