Our practice has been serving the people of Galway and surrounding counties for over 40 years. Dr. Fleetwood took over the practice in 2002 when we were based in our original location at 24 Eyre Square. Regardless of where we are located our purpose remains the same, we are here to serve our patients.
We understand that many of you are not too keen on coming to see the dentist. Our aim is for you to leave our office having felt welcome and having had a positive experience.

We genuinely enjoy helping people, through what can be a stressful experience. From a small filling, to a more complicated treatment plan, we are happy to help you through it.
Eoin has worked at Eyre Square Dental since 1997, and he took over from Dr. Seamus Kilraine in 2002. He is very proud of the forty-year history of the practice. He is delighted to be the recipient of a Sensodyne Sensitive Dentist award for taking great care of his patients.
In his spare time he is often found at the sportsground cheering on Connacht Rugby with his wife Patricia and children Fabien, Caleb and Maiah.
Hilary is originally from Clare but lives in Athlone. He is dual trained, being qualified as a dental technician as well as a dentist. He has ten years experience as a Technician and seven as a dentist. He is ideally placed to help you with your dentures, crowns and bridges.
He spends his spare time keeping up with his three small children, Eleanor and Kate and Tadhg, who have daddy wrapped around their fingers!
James is a Munster man, but we are working hard to turn him into a Connacht supporter. He qualified from University College Cork in 2012 and worked in Manchester for a few years before we tempted him back in 2015.
When he’s not looking after our patients he is usually hiking or cycling or playing rugby! James genuinely doesn’t like chocolate - a fact we all struggled to believe!
Yolande is from Kinvara and has been working at Eyre Square Dental since 2008. She qualified as a hygienist in 2001 and spent time working in London and Dublin before returning to Galway.
In her spare time she loves to travel and has been to over 30 different countries, she has seen five of the seven wonders of the world! In 2016 she became a PADI licensed diver on a trip to Grand Cayman. She is the proud winner of the Kin Hygienist of the Year Award.
Yvonne joined the team on a locum basis in 2017 but we just had to take her on full time! Yvonne is a bubbly people person and a proud Cork native and now lives with her husband and three adorable children in Claregalway. Yvonne is a keen baker and (unfortunately for our waistlines!) is great for bringing in her home baked treats!
Yvonne trained as a hygienist in Cork in graduated in 2014 and loves to use her Airflow polisher to give your teeth a diamond shine.
Sharon is a local girl living in Salthill. Sharon joined us back in 2016 after moving back from Dublin, and we are so glad she did! Sharon graduated from UCC in 2012. Sharon is our resident yogi and as a result she is very Zen!
Sharon’s other love is acting and singing She is a member of Galway Musical Society and Loughrea Musical Society. She certainly is one of the stars of our hygiene team!
Paula lives in Claregalway and has been working at Eyre Square Dental since 2003. She can perform most roles within the office and currently works as Dr. Fleetwood’s personal assistant - she keeps him on his toes!
Having recently bought a house, DIY is keeping Paula busy in her spare time. She enjoys travelling and has stayed in the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi where the indoor temperature was minus 11°C!
Laura is from Monaghan, but we think she has a Donegal accent! She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2007, she got bitten by the travel bug, spending time in Australia and New Zealand. She has worked as a dental nurse in Dublin and Northern Ireland. She now regards Galway as home! Laura has completed her certificate in dental radiography and is qualified to take your x-rays.
In her spare time she loves to travel and enjoys playing traditional Irish music.
Siobháin is a local girl and lives in Newcastle. She joined us in January 2011 and has a background as a legal secretary and training as an accounting technician. She enjoys learning new things and is aiming to complete her dental nursing certificate next year. Siobháin knows everything there is to know about having braces – feel free to ask her.
She loves animals and we consider her our very own Dr. Dolittle.
Laura is from Oughterard and joined us in September 2016. She has a B.A. in spa and wellness management and worked at the Meyrick Hotel before she caught the dental bug - she still does a mean manicure!
Laura is animal mad and has refused a weekend away in London to be at home when her horses foal – we like her commitment. She enjoys spending time with her little sister who is 12 years younger than her.
Orla is our newest addition to the hygiene team, she graduated from UCC in 2019 and joined us in July. Orla loves Gaelic football and she recently completed a 10k with no training!
She is a frequent traveler and loves seeing live music with her friends. Orla is excellent with nervous patients and is proud to see her patients on the road to good dental health.
